What is supervised consumption?
When a GP prescribes medication to a patient, the prescriber has a duty of care. When consuming a medicine which is considered high-risk, the prescriber must consider the safety of the patient. Drug missuse is a current issue facing the health of the general public. Supervision of high-risk medication reduces the risk of harm to the patient, their family and the general public.
How does the pharmacist help?
Our pharmacist will ensure that the supply of the prescribed medication is clinically appropriate. The prescriber can also request that the administration of the medication is supervised by the pharmacist.
What do we offer?
